Hypnotherapy Information

Hypnosis is a process that assists in strengthening parasympathetic responses, allowing the mind, body and spirit to align. The first step in this process is often associated with deep relaxation. For instance, general relaxation/stress relief is often accomplished in lighter states of hypnosis, while behavior modification, accelerated learning are in medium levels. Certain medical applications are done in the deep somnambulistic state, that would include hypnotic anesthesia. Well-designed hypnotherapy protocols have been carefully researched and shown to be a highly beneficial adjunct support for empowering wellness and increasing self-regulation.

The skills for mindfulness and self hypnosis you learn can continue to assist you throughout your life.

What happens at a session?

The session begins with understanding more about hypnosis, questions and assisting with your primary concern. With each return visit more mind/body exercises are experienced and integrated.

How does hypnotherapy relate to medical care and psychology?

A medical support hypnotherapist has extended training in this particular field. With many medical, dental, and psychological issues, the hypnotherapist acts as a member of the care-giving team. If the requested treatment addresses areas for which medical, dental, or psychological treatment should be considered, then hypnotherapy is based upon an appropriate referral.

Can a person be forced to do something which is against their will or contrary to their morals or values?

No. The goal of hypnosis is to give the individual more control of their life, not to take it away.

How many sessions will a person need?
This varies based on personal goals and circumstances. One session can create a major effect.
For many issues, 4 to 10 sessions is very effective. A longer series of sessions builds the foundation for the internal shifts and the ongoing self-hypnosis skills.
