FAQ

How do I get started?

Start with a free consultation. I will talk with you about the issue or primary intent that you would like to work on and share more about and how hypnotherapy can specifically work for you. Next, If you wish to schedule a session, you can fill out the online forms, including medical and psychological history and a confidentiality agreement.

What happens at a session?

During the session, I will guide you using proven mind/body techniques where you can align and strengthen parasympathetic harmony and create healthy outcomes. Each session is tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Initial sessions are 90 minutes. Continued sessions might vary in length between 1 hour or 1.5 hrs depending on issues you are working on. Custom recordings provided.

Can a person be forced to do something which is against his or her will or contrary to their morals or values?

No. The goal of hypnosis is to give you more power for wellness in life, not to take it away. Our own morals and values are in place and respected.

Are online sessions available? And are they effective?

Yes! I do a high percentage of sessions via zoom and phone. People have excellent results while staying in the comfort of their home or resort.

How many sessions will a person need?

This varies based on personal goals and circumstances. One session can create a major effect.
Like learning any new skill ( dancing, surfing, art ) it comes through practice and multiple lessons. The more lessons the better we get. Plan on 4 to 8 sessions to really learn and grow the lasting skills and benefits.

How does hypnotherapy relate to medical care and psychology?

Doctors, dentists and therapists have used hypnosis therapeutically since the 1950’s. Hypnosis is taught at major universities including Princeton, Yale and Harvard. If the requested treatment addresses areas for which medical, dental, or psychological treatment should be considered, then hypnotherapy is based upon an appropriate medical referral. With many medical, dental, and psychological issues, the hypnotherapist acts as a member of the care-giving team.

Is Hypnosis Medically Approved?

Yes! The American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychiatric Association
have both approved hypnotherapy for use by professionally responsible individuals, the
AMA first in 1958 and then again in 1987, followed 2 years later in 1960 by the American
Psychological Association who endorsed hypnosis as a branch of psychology. More recently,
the National Institute of Health (NIH) also endorsed hypnosis saying: “The evidence supporting
the effectiveness of hypnosis in alleviating chronic pain associated with cancer seems strong.
In addition, the panel was presented with other data suggesting the effectiveness of hypnosis
in other chronic pain conditions, which include irritable bowel syndrome, temporomandibular
disorders [jaw pain], and tension headaches.” (NIH, 1995)
